Students from the BBA and BS Accounting & Finance programs at University of Rawalpindi (UOR) participated in an educational visit to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to enhance their understanding of financial literacy, investor education, and Pakistan’s financial sector.

The session commenced with opening remarks and a keynote address by Usman Khalid, Additional Director HR and Training at SECP, who highlighted the importance of financial awareness, responsible investing, and professional development for aspiring business and finance professionals. The main session was conducted by Murtaza Abbas, Joint Director at SECP, who provided valuable insights into investment planning, financial markets, investor rights, and the regulatory role of SECP in Pakistan’s corporate sector.

Through this informative visit, students gained practical exposure to key financial concepts and regulatory frameworks, strengthening their understanding of financial decision-making, investor protection, and emerging opportunities within the financial industry. The activity reflects UOR’s commitment to experiential learning and preparing students for successful careers in business, finance, and corporate governance.
