Description

The Content Associate will research, write, edit and publish high-quality content for the University's institutional and web communications. The role will have particular responsibility for University blogs, content-level search optimisation, and keeping the website's News and Events sections accurate, current and engaging.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, research, write and edit University blogs, feature articles and other long-form content aligned with institutional priorities and audience interests.
  • Apply content-level SEO practices to blogs and web pages, including keyword alignment, titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links, image alt text and readability.
  • Keep the University's News and Events sections updated through the relevant content-management system and ensure timely publication of approved material.
  • Write institutional news articles, website pages, profiles, newsletters, brochures and formal announcements.
  • Review assigned web pages for outdated information, weak copy, broken links or missing content and coordinate necessary updates.
  • Prepare leadership messages, speeches, briefing material, event copy and other institutional communication as assigned.
  • Develop clear captions and campaign copy for use by the Marketing and Digital Media teams.
  • Research topics, gather information from academic and administrative departments and interview relevant stakeholders where required.
  • Verify facts, names, titles, dates and institutional claims before content is submitted for approval.
  • Edit and proofread material for grammar, clarity, structure, accuracy, tone and consistency with University standards.
  • Maintain organised records of drafts, approvals, published content, editorial calendars and standard institutional descriptions.

Requirement

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Media Studies, Mass Communication, Marketing or a related discipline.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in content writing, copywriting, journalism, editing, web content or institutional communications.
  • Exceptional command of written English, with strong editing, proofreading, research and fact-checking ability.
  • Working knowledge of on-page SEO, keyword research, content optimisation and web-writing practices.
  • Experience with WordPress or another content-management system and the ability to update web pages independently.
  • A portfolio of relevant published or professional writing; shortlisted candidates may be required to complete a supervised writing and editing assessment.
  • Ability to understand complex academic or institutional information and present it clearly to different audiences.
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail, judgement and ability to manage multiple assignments within deadlines.
  • Ability to use digital and AI-assisted research or writing tools responsibly while independently verifying accuracy and originality.
