Description

The role will support the development and operation of the University's Technical & Vocational Programmes function. The selected candidate will identify relevant government, industry and development-sector training opportunities; coordinate EOIs, proposals and programme applications; and manage the compliant delivery of approved technical, vocational and funded skills programmes from mobilisation through completion and reporting. Appointment may be made at Executive or Assistant Manager level, depending on experience and demonstrated ability to lead the work independently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor NAVTTC, TEVTA, PSDF, government and development-sector sources for EOIs, calls for proposals and funded training opportunities; assess institutional fit and prepare opportunity briefs for management.
  • Prepare and coordinate EOIs, technical proposals, programme applications, implementation plans, budgets and supporting documents, and maintain a calendar of application and contractual deadlines.
  • Implement NAVTTC and other approved technical or vocational programmes in accordance with contracts, programme guidelines, SOPs and institutional approvals.
  • Prepare batch plans, delivery schedules and implementation trackers and coordinate trainers, laboratories, classrooms, equipment and learning resources.
  • Manage trainee registration, programme portals, participant databases, attendance records and required supporting documentation and follow up on retention issues.
  • Coordinate assessments, external verification, certification and programme-completion activities.
  • Maintain complete and audit-ready files covering trainees, trainers, attendance, assessments, course delivery, equipment and programme evidence.
  • Coordinate monitoring visits, inspections and audits and ensure that observations and corrective actions are addressed within prescribed timelines.
  • Prepare stipend, reimbursement, claim and payment-supporting documentation in coordination with Accounts and other relevant offices.
  • Support outreach and enrolment for approved batches in coordination with Admissions and Marketing.
  • Track enrolment, attendance, completion, certification, placement and tracer outcomes and submit accurate progress and completion reports.

Requirement

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree from an HEC-recognised university in Business Administration, Management, Education, Public Administration, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in programme coordination, technical and vocational training, skills development or workforce-development initiatives.
  • Candidates considered for appointment as Assistant Manager should normally have at least five years of relevant experience, including independent responsibility for programme applications or implementation.
  • Direct experience with NAVTTC, TEVTA, PSDF or another funded training programme will be preferred.
  • Experience in preparing EOIs, proposals, programme applications, implementation plans or tender documentation will be an advantage.
  • Experience with participant portals, batch records, attendance, assessments, certification, monitoring visits or audit documentation will be an advantage.
  • Strong coordination, follow-up, documentation, data-management and problem-solving skills, with good command of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn programme-specific digital systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple batches and deadlines and to work occasional extended hours when programme delivery requires.
