Description
The University of Rawalpindi is seeking a proactive, organised, and purpose-driven individual to support the development of its sustainability and institutional impact function.
The selected candidate will coordinate campus sustainability initiatives, student engagement, external collaborations, sustainability reporting, and participation in international sustainability rankings.
KEY RESPONSIBLITES:
- Coordinate the University’s annual sustainability action plan and activity calendar.
- Support campus initiatives related to energy conservation, water management, waste reduction, recycling, paper reduction, sustainable transport, accessibility, and environmental awareness.
- Engage students through sustainability campaigns, competitions, volunteer activities, and the proposed UOR Green Ambassadors Programme.
- Coordinate with academic and administrative departments to collect sustainability-related data, records, and supporting evidence.
- Maintain organised documentation for sustainability reporting and international ranking submissions.
- Support the University’s participation in UI GreenMetric and readiness for other sustainability and impact rankings.
- Identify and coordinate relevant conferences, campaigns, competitions, training opportunities, partnerships, and community initiatives.
- Assist in mapping University courses, research, policies, and activities against the Sustainable Development Goals.
- Prepare activity reports, progress updates, presentations, website content, and the University’s annual Sustainability and SDG Report.
- Maintain regular follow-up with departmental focal persons and external stakeholders.
Requirement
Qualification
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an HEC-recognised university in Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Development, Development Studies, Public Policy, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Economics, International Relations, Communications, Education, or a related discipline.
- A relevant Master’s degree will be considered an advantage but is not mandatory.
Experience
- Up to three years of relevant professional experience in sustainability, project coordination, student engagement, community development, research, reporting, institutional coordination, or a comparable role.
- Fresh graduates with strong evidence of student leadership, volunteering, sustainability initiatives, community projects, research, or event coordination are encouraged to apply.
Required Competencies
- Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
- Good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to organise activities and coordinate with multiple departments.
- Strong follow-up, documentation, and record-management skills.
- Interest in sustainability, the Sustainable Development Goals, and institutional impact.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Confidence in engaging students, faculty members, external organisations, and institutional stakeholders.
- Creativity, initiative, and willingness to undertake field-based activities where required.
